William R. Edgington “Ricky”, 74, of Lancaster, passed away September 14, 2025 at UK Hospital In Lexington.  He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Darlene Edgington. Ricky was born on May 10, 1951 in Danville to parents Charles and Betty Jane Edgington. He shared the same birthday with his father and Uncle Jimmy Edgington.

Ricky met his wife Darlene at Garrard County Hospital and married his sweetheart in 1970. They established EdgeView Farms in 1972 where it was the Home of the Edgington’s, Good Cows…Great People. He was a Dairy Farmer of over 42 years. 

Ricky was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball Fan. He also loved Gospel and Country Music. He loved his animals, especially his dogs and cats. 

Ricky was a member of Bryantsville Missionary Baptist Church.

Ricky was an organ donor, The Network of Hope was able to use his corneas to help someone see again.

In addition to his wife, Ricky is survived by his daughter Evelyn Jane Barker of Lancaster; two sons, Charlie (Emily) Breathitt Edgington of Lexington and Hubert Alexander (Laura) Edgington of Lancaster; grandchildren Charlie Breathitt “Brett” Edgington II and Macey Jane Edgington; and his farm dogs, Zelda, Snowball, Winter, Rusty, and Chester.  

Funeral services will be 1pm on Wednesday, September 17, 2025at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gary Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9pm on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at the funeral home. 

Pallbearers will be Freddie Edgington, Bruce Edgington, Jerry Edgington, Keith Brown, Randy Brown, Mark Brown, Steve Simpson, Steve Tracy, Lloyd Sebastian and William Brown.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kalin Brown and Aidan Brown.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Garrard County Animal Shelter.
