William Wahl Obituary

William Wallace Wahl, 78, of Crab Orchard, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Baptist Health Richmond. He is survived by
his loving wife, Merrie Sellards Wahl. William was born on January 12, 1943 in Camden, New Jersey to the late Frank and Elizabeth Jesson Wahl.

William served our country in the United States Navy. He loved his grandchildren very much and enjoyed camping, sailing, scuba diving and spear fishing. 


William was preceded in death by a son; John Downey who left behind his wife, Tammy and sons, Johnny Downey, Eric C. Downey and Nathan P. Downey.  Also surviving is a son, Jasper Downey of New Jersey; grandchildren, Dillon T. Downey, Taylor Downey, and Austin Downey; two brothers, Charles Wahl (Charlene) of New Jersey and Frank Wahl (Jeannie) of California; a sister, Betty Wilson of Michigan and best friends, Matthew and Diane Dariano of New Jersey.

He was also preceded in death by a brother in law, Robert Wilson.

Funeral services will be 4:00 pm Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wendell Johnson officiating.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until service time.

Graveside service will be 11:00 am Monday, November 29, 2021 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, KY.
