Virginia (Bug) K. Simpson (Née: McQuerry) of Paint Lick, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9th, 2020, in her home with her family by her side. Born October 24th, 1943 in Paint Lick, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late William Glenmore McQuerry and Bessie Christine Manuel McQuerry.
Virginia was known for her spirited personality. As her husband, Smokey, said, she was her own woman. She had a heart of kindness and a knack for a well-timed eye-roll.
She is survived by her son, Doug Simpson and wife, Leah, her grandson, Jackson Simpson, her brothers and sisters, Wanda Flynn, Mildred Purcell, Margaret Lee Huffman, Loretta Parker, Jerry McQuerry, and Beulah (Boots) Whittaker, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph (Smokey) Simpson, her brothers, Huston McQuerry, Ross McQuerry, Martin McQuerry, Gordon McQuerry, and David McQuerry, and her sister Glenna Castle.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday September 14, 2020 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Johnny Baker officiating.
Visitation will be 11:00 AM until service time.
Burial will be in Manse Cemetery in Paint Lick.
