Vernon Gilliam

Vernon Clay Gilliam, 83, of Lancaster, passed away Monday July 3, 2023 at Landmark of Lancaster. Vernon was born on April 9, 1940 in Garrard County to the late Albert and Revor Tapp Gilliam. 

Vernon was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed many hobbies including fishing and hunting. 

He was a member of Scotts Fork Christian Church 

Surviving is a brother, Daryl "Butch" Gilliam (Sue) of Florida; several nieces and nephews. There are times when our friends become family; he is also survived by Harry and Shirley Howard and their family; and a special friend, Brooke Gander, who was more like a daughter than a friend.

Along with his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by brothers, George Gilliam, Albert Gilliam Jr., Charlie Gilliam, Homer Gilliam; and a sister, Barbara Carter.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Monday, July 10, 2023, at Lancaster Cemetery Chapel with Bro. Bruce Carpenter and Bro. Odis Clark officiating.

Pallbearers are Brooke Gander, Chase Gander, Josh Howard, Jennifer Howard, Izzy Howard, Livvy Howard, Gabe Gander, Jacobi Gander, Creed Gander and Shelia Gilliam.
