Tommy Gill, 83, of Lancaster, Kentucky, passed away on March 11, 2026, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Tommy was born on March 4, 1943, to the late Fred and Hazel Foley Gill. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Dean Gill, and sister, Wanda Gill Snyder.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Connie Burdette Gill, his daughter, Ginny (Eddie) Woods, his grandsons, Tom (Brandi) Robinson & Brad Hisle, and his great-grandchildren, Ella and Levi Robinson. Tommy was a knowledgeable gardener, insisting on straight rows and a weed-free garden, and could grow the best homegrown vegetables.
Tommy was the last surviving co-owner of Burdette Wholesale, which is where he started his journey of buying and reselling. He also owned and operated Tommy Gill Restaurant on the square and was a lifelong farmer.
Tommy was a member at Drakes Creek Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. Tommy never met a stranger and was blessed with many good friends. Among those friends are his honorary pallbearers, Charlie Floyd, Earl Foley, Lyndon Peck, Frank Horton, Rob Stenstrom, Jack Bickford, Jackie Powers, Danny Waters, and Mike Carpenter, and pallbearers Tom Robinson, Brad Hisle, Levi Robinson, Rusty Foley, Butch Perkins, Jimmy Hall, Jason Hall, and Frankie Hall.
