Sue Evelyn Day Obituary

Sue Evelyn Day of Lancaster, age 80, passed away peacefully Friday, September 27, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her family.  

She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, George Day; three daughters: Janet (Steve) Lawrence, Jana (Bill) Oliver, Diane (Jason) Bisher; four grandchildren: Jennifer (Eric) Caldwell, Lauren Oliver, Stephanie Oliver, Clay Bisher (Kristin Appel); four great grandchildren: Hunter Caldwell, Zacarey Caldwell, Faith Evelyn Caldwell, a niece: Sara (Todd) Bisher and Braeden, a nephew: Thomas (Shannon) Hager and family, honorary grandchildren: Sabrina Coffey and Nicole Kelly, Shonda McQuerry who was her trusted caregiver, and many other children who called her Granny.

Sue Evelyn was born on January 8, 1939 in Burgin, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Luther and Suella Hager and the sister of the late Tom Hager.

She dearly loved her early life, often recalling the wonderful years she spent at Burgin School. During her high school years, she was asked to play piano at the Buena Vista Baptist Church where she met George and became a pianist. She was a charter member of the church.

Sue Evelyn was a homemaker and especially enjoyed her family at Daycrest Farm. She was known for her smile, encouraging spirit, and excellent cooking.

Visitation will be held at Buena Vista Baptist Church on Monday, September 30, 2019 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM and from 9:30 AM until the time of service on Tuesday. The funeral and celebration of life will also be held at the church on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Daycrest Farm in the family cemetery.

Bro. Larry Harris will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Joe Day, Jason Bisher, Clay Bisher, Todd Bisher, Braeden Bisher, Eric Caldwell, Steve Lawrence and Bill Oliver. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Caldwell, Zacarey Caldwell, Thomas Hager and Hudson Roberson.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Buena Vista Baptist Church Building fund.
