Simmie Derringer

Simmie Franklin Derringer, 60, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020 in Nicholasville. He was born on October 13, 1959 in Garrard County, KY to Linnie Clark Hill of Lancaster and the late George Derringer. 

Simmie served our country in the United States Army.

He worked with concrete and worked for Robinson Construction. Simmie enjoyed old classic cars and was an animal lover. He also enjoyed wood working and was very talented.

Also surviving is a special nephew, LJ Huffman(Julie) of Nicholasville; two sisters, Regina Whalen(Gary) of Lancaster and Linda Lou Henderson(Jeffrey) of North Carolina; a brother, George William Derringer(Laura) of Richmond; a half-brother, Jason Derringer; a half-sister, Brenda Landis and several nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday March 8, 2020 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Daryl Hodge officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 PM until service time.
