Robert Joseph Thomas

Robert Joseph Thomas, 87, of Lancaster, passed away at his home on November 6, 2025. He was born on May 19, 1938 in Graves County, Kentucky to the late Joseph Paul and Edith Gibson Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Teresa King Thomas of Lancaster. 

Robert retired from Goodyear in Union City, Tennessee. He loved to play cards and was an avid fisherman, who was always so generous with his catch. Robert loved people and always had a smile on his face. 

Surviving is a son, Christopher Allen Thomas (Jessica) of Florida, grandchildren, Tanner Adams of Tennessee, James Ryder Thomas and Ryleigh Carolyn Thomas of Florida; stepson, Joel Murphy of Frankfort, Kentucky; brothers, Laddie Thomas of Fancy Farm, Kentucky and Freddie Thomas of Murray, Kentucky; sisters, Angela and Teresa Thomas, both of Murray; and a special nephew, Micah Daly of Lancaster. 

He is preceded in death by the mother of his child Chris, Carolyn Thomas; his sisters, Peggy Riley and JoAnn Aucter and a step-son, Nick Murphy. 

Funeral services will be 12pm Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Horn officiating. Visitation will be from 11am until service time. Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery at 1:30pm with full military honors.
