Robert Simmonds, 79, of Danville, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025 at Ephraim McDowell Medical Center. He was born November 4, 1945 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Jean Christopher Simmonds and Anna Sadie Sparks.

Robert was a proud Air Force Veteran. He spent his working life as a Truck Driver, a career of which he was especially proud.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Parkerson; brother, Jim Simmonds; and several nieces and nephews.  

He is survived by close friends, Tommy and Karla Robison, whom were like family to him.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Spurlin Funeral Home with Pastor Dwayne Lobb officiating.

Visitation will be held prior to services from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, KY.

Pallbearers are Harold Spears, David Anderson, Troy Hall, Eddie Coffey, Stephen Kinnaird and David Coffey.
