Richard “Ricky” Arnold, 71, of Lancaster, passed away September 18, 2020 at Ephraim McDowell Medical Center. He was born on October 20, 1948 in Boyle County to Mildred Jean Arnold of Wilmore and the late Walter Pete Arnold. He is survived by his wife, Judy Bates Arnold.
Ricky was a teacher for over 42 years, teaching at Camp Dick Robinson Elementary School, as well as Garrard Middle. He was a member of the Camp Dick Fire Department for 48 years and was instrumental of the establishment of the Garrard County Fair. He served for our country in the United States Army. Ricky was a member of the Lancaster Methodist Church.
Along with his mother, Jean and his wife, Judy, Ricky is survived by two sons, Mark Arnold (Yvonne) of Frankfort and Adam Arnold (Tessa) of Frankfort; brother, Bill Arnold (Susan) of Lexington; grandchildren, Daniel Arnold, Ryan Hostetlar, Taylor Davis, Evan Zerojowy and Anna Zerojowy and great grandchildren, Sawyer Derrousse, Aubri Davis and Jackson Harris.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, September 21, 2020 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Arnold, Adam Arnold and Mark Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Hostetlar, David Arnold, Jeremy Arnold, AJ Arnold, Scotty Merida and Evan Zdrojowy.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Daniel Arnold and Merza Martin.
