Opal Poynter, 96, of Lancaster, passed away August 15, 2022 at Landmark of Lancaster. She was born September 21, 1925 in Garrard County to the late Bradford and Maggie Burdette. Opal was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Boots" Poynter. 

Opal was a homemaker and a member of Victory Christian Church. 

Surviving is a niece, Connie Gill (Tommy) of Lancaster, niece, Lisa Thomas, nephew, Paul Thomas, and special caregivers and friends, Sarah Goins, Donna Peek, Teresa Dodds, Brandi Yeakey, and Wanda Shelton. 

She is also preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Rhoda Burdette and sister and brother-in-law, Faye and James Thomas. 

Funeral services will be 11am Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Browning officiating. Visitation will be from 10am until service time. Burial in Lancaster Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Tom Robinson and Brad Hisle.
