Nona "Nonie" Mae Elam, 93, of Lancaster, passed away July 13, 2020 at Landmark of Lancaster. She was born on June 18, 1927 in Madison County and raised in Buena Vista by her late parents Virgil and Grace Green. Nona Mae was preceded in death by her husband, George Elam.
Nona Mae loved watching her sister Marie show horses, gardening, flowers, crafting and painting. She was a homemaker and a member of Lancaster Christian Church.
Surviving is a sister, Marie Broaddus of Lancaster; sister in law, Martha Green of Lancaster; nephew, Randall Broaddus of Lancaster; nieces, Betty Dixon of Kansas, Lena Crenshaw of Lebanon, Ann Kingsley (Steve) of Florida, Norma Hammons (Jackie) of Harrodsburg and Linda Becker (Jerry) of Georgetown and a special friend, Penny Jones (Sandy) of Richmond.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings, Mary Satterly and Virgil Green Jr, niece, Ruby Hurst and nephew, Gordon Edward Green.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, July 17, 2020 at Spurlin Funeral Home with Rev. Jiann Bufort officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM.
Burial will be in Burgin Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randall Broaddus, Jerry Becker, Clarence Green, Jackie Hammons, Milton Hammons and Scotty Hammons.
