Mildred Greer Bourne, 81, of Garrard County, KY, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.  A staunch and lifelong Christian, she was a lantern for God’s light, and she met her passing with a tremendous sweetness and dignity.

Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Hazel Greer; her daughter, Audrey Lynn Graves; and her husband, John Bourne, to whom she was married for sixty-two years and separated in death by a mere five months.  

She is survived by her son, Andrew Bourne of Lancaster, KY; grandson Christopher Henry Graves; granddaughter, Amanda Graves; son-in-law Harry Graves of Athens, KY; sister Daisy Greer Gay of Lancaster, KY; and numerous and sundry nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and outlaws.

In her eighty-one years, Mildred touched lives with her kindness and faith; and the world is a little dimmer without her light.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 12:30 PM at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Jonathan Grizzell officiating.

Visitation will be 11:30 AM until service time.

Burial will follow the service at Lancaster Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Andrew Bourne, Harry Graves, Alvin Feldman, Jennings Vanover, Kyle McQueen, and Jeremy Day.

Honorary pallbearers are Patton Vanover, Roger Walton, and Keith Bourne.
