Michael “Mike” Dean Whittaker, 71, of Lancaster passed away at his home on December 8, 2025. He was born in Lancaster on April 20, 1954 to the late Kenneth and Flonnie Bolton Whittaker. He is survived by his loving wife, Boots Whittaker.

Mike enjoyed farming and going to tractor shows. He was a collector of toy tractors and loved to attend his family members’ ballgames and sporting events. He was a member of the South Eastern Engines & Tractor Association and the Corvette Club. Mike was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Paint Lick.

In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by a daughter, Martina Sowder (Scott) of Lancaster; a grandson Brantley Sowder; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be at Spurlin Funeral Home on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 11 AM with Bro. Jerry Browning officiating. Burial will follow at Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Scott Sowder, Jameson Flynn, Chris Gifford, Danny Grant, Delbert Gilliam and Jerry Bolton. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Taylor, David Sowder, Freeman Wylie, Ray Kemble, Mike Hellwig, Phoenix Newcomb, Cheyenne Elam, Dusty Duggins, Dawson Duggins and his nieces and nephews.
