McKenzie Clay Ison, 29, of Lancaster, passed away September 7, 2023 in Boyle County, Kentucky. She was born on June 28, 1994 in Danville, Kentucky to Karen Ison and Trent Ison. Surviving is her son, Zay’Ceon Wyche. 

McKenzie graduated from Garrard County High School in 2012 and was the manager of Lee’s Famous Recipe in Danville. She was an amazing, loving mother, who loved to watch and coach Zay’Ceon from the sidelines of any sport he was playing. She was outgoing and adored her family and friends. 

Surviving is her son, Zay’Ceon Logan Wyche of Danville, parents: Karen Ison of Danville and Trent Ison (Chantay) of Lancaster; maternal grandparents, Doris and Kenny Curtis of Lancaster; sister, Trenia Ison (James Griffin) of Lancaster, brother, Trenton Ison of Lancaster, niece, Montana Griffin of Lancaster and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. 

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Billy McPherson and Suzette Ison.

Funeral services will be 1pm Thursday, September 14, 2023 at St. Paul Predestinarian Baptist Church in Lancaster with Bro. Barry Bowman officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Spurlin Funeral Home of Lancaster, with an additional visitation from 11am-1pm Thursday at St. Paul Predestinarian Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Duncantown Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rashea Ford, Lamont Hocker, Adrian Ogle, Montez Ison, Jaylan McPherson, and William Cozart. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Cierra, Jordan, Jeniah, Lindsey, Brittany, Chasity, Faith, Hope, Sydney,  Justice, Arlene, Tyra, Tamia, Bailey, and Mackenzie.
