Margaret Ray Obituary

Margaret Beatrice Shearer Ray, 95, of Lancaster, KY passed away peacefully on October 29, 2020 at home surrounded by family. She was born in Boyle County on March 10, 1925 to the late George and Ethel Harp Shearer. Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband, Virgil Kinnaird Ray. 

She was a homemaker for most of her life and member of Forks of Dix River Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Michael (Josephine) Ray and Patrick Kinnaird (Joanne) Ray both of Lancaster, KY; two grandchildren, Joey Michael (Lisa) Ray and Erica Jo Merrill both of Lancaster, KY; and three great-grandchildren, Kylie Jean Merrill, Abigail Lynn Merrill, and Ruby Jane Bass all of Lancaster, KY.

Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, George Shearer, James Lee Shearer; a foster brother, Gregory Shearer, and three sisters, Gracie Sanders, Lucille McKinney, and Frances Manni.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM on Saturday October 31, 2020 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Browning officiating.

Visitation will be 11:00 am until service time.

Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery. 

Pallbearers are Mirle Mink, Darrell Logan, Joey Michael Ray, Carl Day, Roddy Carr, and Larry Duggins.
