Lorraine Miller, 83, of Lancaster, passed away February 26, 2025 at Maplewood Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Leslie County, Kentucky on May 29, 1941 to the late Wilson and Mary Lewis Shepherd. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Butler Miller. 

Lorraine worked for Safeguard Corporation for over 42 years in Lancaster, Kentucky. She was a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon and attended Dix River Church of Christ. She loved to crochet and visit with her family. Lorraine was a strong and faithful woman. 

Surviving is a daughter, Christie Miller of Lancaster; two grandchildren, Christian Duncan McQueary and Conner David-Butler McQueary; brother, Clayton Shepherd (Kim) of Crab Orchard; sisters, Ida Mae Day and Minerva Hicks, both of Lancaster; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Shepherd of Leslie County. 

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Joe Shepherd, Jimmy Shepherd, and Otis Shepherd and a sister, Bessie Day. 

Funeral services will be 12pm Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Maggard and Bro. Therman Pearson officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-12pm on Saturday. 

Pallbearers will be Conner David-Butler McQueary, Wilson Dwayne Shepherd, Les Rector, Tyrone Spillman, Chris Cornelius, Lee Cornelius, Scotty Joe Johnica, and David McQueary.
