Lila Elizabeth Oliver

Lila Elizabeth Turner Oliver, 88, of Lancaster, passed away September 1, 2022 at Landmark of Lancaster. She is survived by her husband of almost 67 years, L.B. Oliver. Lila was born on July 7, 1934 to the late Ray Sr. and Dolly Turner. 

She was a beautician for many years and was passionate about her work. Lila was a breast cancer survivor and was always eager to encourage and pray with people facing the same battle.

Lila and her husband L.B. enjoyed taking motorcycle trips across the United States. They helped to start a ministry called, “Motorcycles for Jesus” and used it as an opportunity to share Jesus with others. 

Lila was a member of Lancaster Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School for many years and had a positive impact on her students. She loved to cook and share her recipes, especially with loved ones. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now with the Lord. 

Also surviving are two sons, Bill Oliver (Jana) of Lancaster and Larry Oliver (Vicki) of Richmond; three grandchildren, Lauren Oliver, Jacob Oliver (Lakin) and Stephanie Oliver; and a great grandchild, Lylah Oliver.

Along with her parents, Lila was preceded in death by five siblings, Leroy Turner, Edna Turner Underwood, Mae Turner Helton, Ray "Gene" Turner, and Glenn Turner.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, September 5, 2022 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be led by Lila’s family. Visitation will be Sunday, September 4, 2022 from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery. 

Pallbearers are John Oliver, Jim Oliver, Jacob Oliver, Stephanie Oliver, Lakin Oliver, and George Day. 

Honorary pallbearer are Jin Marshbanks, Jim Werkmeister, and Sherry Carpenter. 

Memorial contributions are preferred to The Gideon’s in her memory.
