Judy Jeffries Obituary

Judy Jeffries (JuJu), 84, of Lancaster, entered the presence of Christ Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Centerpoint Health in Georgetown, KY. She was born on March 17, 1942, in Garrard County, KY to the late Willie and Joetta Lane Denny. She was a devoted sister to eight siblings: Shirley, Jimmy, Betsy, Lewis, Coonie, Joe, Loretta, and Pee Wee.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, Pete Jeffries, and their four children: Barry (Gay) Jeffries, Bruce (Tammy) Jeffries, Beverly (Jeff) Ray, and Bridget (Jeff) Moss.  She is further survived by their thirteen grandchildren, Jacob (Carrie) Jeffries, Daniel (Rachel) Jeffries, Abby (Jacob) Shofner, Josh Worthington, Jared (Gabi) Worthington, Zac (Breonna) Jeffries, Amanda Monzon, Cristian Felix, Tyler (Tessa) Ray, Clayton (Shelbi) Ray, Maria (Luke) McCarty, Jackson (Olivia) Moss, Carter Moss, and Madison Moss and eighteen great grandchildren.

JuJu was a living example of a loving wife, mom, grandmom, friend, and Christ-follower. She loved Pete more than she loved her own life. Through the joys and trials of life, they walked side-by-side. They endured tragedies and triumphs together, united as a couple following Christ. She loved her children deeply. Each one so special to her in their own way. They could not ask for a better mom. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her door was always open to them, no invitation and no knocking needed. She loved her church. It would be difficult, if not impossible, to count the number of hours she spent serving others for the glory of Christ. JuJu had a God-given gift for loving people as they were. She possessed the rare quality of unconditional love. She was hard-worker, wonderful provider, and always ready to laugh.

Above all, she loved Jesus. Her life was a model of consistent, faithful, Christlikeness. What she didn’t say with words, she demonstrated in lifestyle. Our family is what it is because she pointed us to Jesus.

Thank you for celebrating her with us. She loved Spring, dress in colors that reflect the season.
