Juanita Lear, 74, of Paint Lick, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. She was born on April 11, 1946 in Garrard County, KY to the late William and Fannie Goins Grimes. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Shirley.

She worked for the Garrard Country School System for over 10 years and the Bluegrass Community Action for four years. Juanita enjoyed crocheting and her family was most important to her.

She was a member of Lancaster Church of the Nazarene and attended Good Hope Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Donald Lear(Natasha) of Cartersville and Jackie Lear(Ruby) of Paint Lick; a daughter, Doris Lear of Paint Lick; a brother, James Grimes(Pat) of North Carolina; a sister, Jo Rita Grimes of Lancaster and two grandsons, Michael and Dylan Lear. She was looking so forward to her great-grandson, due in September, Elijah James.

Juanita was also preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Kirby Grimes and a sister, Patsy Grimes.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday July 3, 2020 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Johnny Baker officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Thursday.

Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Lear, Dylan Lear, Eric Gibson, James Hiatt, Bill Bowles and Jesse Hiatt.
