With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of John Mason Arnold, age 63, of Lancaster, Kentucky. John passed away peacefully at his home on February 28, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer. During his illness, he was surrounded by the loving care of his wife, Susan.

Born November 20, 1961, to the late James and Norma Colgate Arnold, John was the embodiment of hard work and dedication. A lifelong farmer, he spent countless hours tending to crops and milking cows. In recent years, John focused on his greenhouse, gardens, and passion for antiquing. He was always involved in a project, exceptional at "delegating" his vision and ensuring everyone contributed.

John's spirit can be summed up as this; he was the type of man who would wrestle a bear to protect what mattered most. Fiercely determined and strong, he faced life's challenges head-on and never backed down from a fight. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, nothing made him happier than being with his family.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Susan Arnold, and their children; Jessica Greene (Justin), Tiffany Lamie (James), Carrie Goodwin (Patrick), and Kevin Arnold. He took pride in his grandchildren- Tristan Murphy, Mason Goodwin, Corbin and Norah Greene, John and Amelia Lamie, and Ava and Eliza Arnold- who brought him immense joy. He also leaves behind his brothers, Tommy Arnold (Brunette) and William Arnold (Debbie), his sisters, Sandra Miller, Martha Scott (Tom), Cindy Hanks, and a brother in law, Bill Crouse; along with many nieces and nephews

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Kathy Arnold, Chris Crouse, and brother in law G.B. Miller.

As we remember John, his family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace, free from pain, and in the care of the Lord. His love, strength, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Funeral service will be 7:00 PM on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Spurlin Funeral Home with Rev. Lanny Hazelwood officiating.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Kevin Cornelius, Jerome Isaacs, Ed Gross, Patrick Lowry, Justin Greene, James Lamie, Mason Goodwin, and Tristan Murphy.
