John Gregory "Jack" Gulley, 87, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday August 5, 2021 at Lexington VAMC in Lexington, KY. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Lucille Yates Gulley. Jack was born on January 5, 1934 in Lancaster, KY to the late Robert and Georgia Burton Gulley.
Jack served for our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. After the war, he worked for Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company for over 27 years.
Jack was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church.
Along with his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Tonya Ren`ee Bunton of Lancaster; two sisters, Betty Jo Wardlow of Utica , KY and Georgia Rose of Naples, FL; three grandchildren, Makala Hopewell, Morgan Karr, and Aaron Gulley; and four great- grandchildren, Schyler Likins, Brayden Hopewell, Brynnleigh Hopewell, and Kinley Hopewell.
Jack along with his parents was preceded in death by three sons, Brian Keith, John Gregory, and Timothy Gulley; a brother, Robert Gulley; and two sisters, Helen Gulley and Patricia Tipton.
A celebration of life will be held 12:00 PM Monday, August 16, 2021 at Pleasant Grove Christian Church. A gathering of friends and family will begin at 11:30 AM at the church.
Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with full military honors.
