Jerry Nelson McQuerry, 72, of Paint Lick, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Baptist Health Richmond. He was born April 12, 1953 in Lancaster, Kentucky to the late William Glenmore and Bessie Christine Manuel McQuerry. 

Jerry was a lifelong Garrard County farmer and realtor for Weichert-Ford Brothers, formerly the Irvin Group. He adored his grandchildren and family. He was a member of Moreland Christian Church. 

Surviving is a son, Clint McQuerry (Cari) of Paint Lick; daughters, Doty Clifford (Mark) of Paint Lick, Jana Bailey of Berea, and Sarah Hoskins (Matthew) of Somerset; grandchildren, Emery Bertram, Madelyn McQuerry, Brayden McQuerry, Sawyer Bailey, Cassidy Bailey, Bryley Bailey, Eli Clifford, Kinsley Bailey, Shelby Clifford, Wyatt Bailey, Henry McQuerry, Emma McQuerry, Waylon Bailey, Colton Hoskins, Maddie Hoskins, Jay Hoskins, Maggie Hoskins, Sophia Hoskins and Makenzie Hoskins and sisters, Wanda Flynn of Danville, Mildred Purcell (Joe) of Lancaster, Margaret Lee Huffman of Dayton, Ohio, Loretta Parker (Barney) of Paint Lick, and Boots Whitaker of Lancaster.  

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Houston, Ross, Gordon, Martin, and David McQuerry and sisters, Virginia Simpson and Glenna Castle. 

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Closterman officiating. Burial will follow in Manse Cemetery in Paint Lick. Visitation will be 6:00- 9:00 pm Monday, January 19, 2026 at Spurlin Funeral Home. 

Pallbearers will be Mark Cliffford, Robbie Castle, Keith Castle, Bobby Dale Johnson, Gary Coffman, Jimmy Tudor, Arthur Teater, Scott Sowder, and Bryan McQuerry. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Simpson, Shane McQuerry, Durand Brown, Danny Irvin, Cliff-Ed Irvin, Zach Speake, Buddy Pence, Gary Dodson, and John Manuel McQuerry.
