Janette Rogers, 96, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Landmark of Lancaster. She was born February 11, 1924 in Jessamine County, Kentucky to the late Sam and Ada Bruner Stipes. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.E. Rogers.
She was a homemaker and a member of Gunns Chapel Methodist Church. Janette so loved her family and friends, shopping at Talbots, her pearls and especially her great grandchildren .....her "babies".
Surviving is a son, Jimmy Wayne Ray (Elizabeth) of Lancaster, a daughter, Jane Carol Miller of Lancaster, grandchildren, Doug Miller (Kella) and Karen Hall (Chip) and great grandchildren, Dawson Miller, Kathryn Hall and Carlie Hall.
She is preceded in death by a daughter, Charlene Ray, brothers, Holhman Stipes and Ras Stipes and sisters, Mable McCulley, Emma McCulley, Charlotte Davis and Mattie Corman.
A private family service will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Harold McClaren officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Cemetery.
A service for the public in her honor, will be announced and held at a later date with pallbearers, Dawson Miller, Kathryn Hall, Carlie Hall, Doug Miller, Donnie McCulley, Jimmy McCulley, Mark Corman, Tom Hale, David Stipes and James Earl Land and honorary pallbearers, Betty McCulley Arnold, Florence Murphy, Ada Parsons, Ralph Parsons, Boots Whitaker, Mark Metcalf, Keith Bourne and Jerry Murphy.
