James “Bill” William Lear Obituary

James “Bill” William Lear, 66, of Crab Orchard, passed away September 24, 2025 at his home. He was born in Garrard County to the late Bill Franklin and Rosie Ray Lear. 


Bill was a semi-truck driver all his life. He loved hot rods and old cars. 


Surviving are his children, Heather Lear of Richmond, Billy Lear, Sam Lear (Kaitlyn Coffman), Mary Lear, and Brandon Rhodus, all of Crab Orchard; wife and mother of children, Nena Lear of Crab Orchard; brothers, Matthew Lear (Judy) of Paint Lick, Dale Rollins (Dedee) of Richmond, Doug Rollins (Katie) and Carl Lear, both of Paint Lick; sisters, Jean Gentry, Sue Ray (Wilbert), and Ruthie Grow (Stacey), all of Garrard County; grandchildren, Raeliegh Lear, Jameson Lear, Arabella Lear, Jaime Lear, William Lear, Maddie Conn, and Emma Jane Grow. 
 


A visitation will be held from 11am-12pm on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Spurlin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lowell Cemetery in Paint Lick.
 


Pallbearers will be Sam Lear, DJ Lirette, Bump Lear, Matt Lear, Jerry Carpenter, and Randy Ray. 


Honorary pallbearer will be Keith Saylor.
