James E. Owens, 56, of Lancaster, passed away October 29, 2025 at UK Healthcare in Lexington. He was born in Norton, Virginia on May 13, 1969 to the late Leroy and Lily Owens. 

He spent his career in electricity but loved helping people when in need. He spent his spare time cooking for his family. He loved to fish and swim. James was an all around intelligent man who could fix anything you put in front of him.

Surviving are his life partner, Charlotte Conn; children, Michael Owens, Craig Conn, Jamie Owens(Jeremy), and Tara Owens Masters (Robert); dog, JJ; and grandchildren, Maddie Conn, Valerie Osborne, Lilly-Ann, Tyler Myers, Taren Masters. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and a son, James Anthony “JA” Owens. 

Funeral services will be 1pm Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 12pm until funeral time on Tuesday. Burial will follow in Lancaster Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Craig Conn, Michael Owens, Jeremy Chambers, Robert Masters.
