February 9, 1942 ~ December 27, 2023 (age 81) 81 Years Old
James Lear, 81, passed away on December 27, 2023 at Landmark of Lancaster. He was born on February 9, 1942 in Garrard County to the late Francis and Grace Carpenter Lear.
James was a farmer and worked at the casket factory for many years. He was a member of Bryantsville Missionary Baptist Church and he loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.
James is survived by two daughters, Vickie Walker (Johnny) of Lexington and Lisa Greer (Gerry) of Lancaster; two sisters, Mary Harris of Berea and Ruby Day of Cartersville; and one granddaughter, Ashlie Hillard of Lancaster.
James was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Sandra.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Lancaster Cemetery with Bro. Gary Howell officiating.
Pallbearers will be Gerry Greer, Johnny Walker, Amos Adams and Michael Poynter.
