James Antwan Buford

James "Poodie" Buford, 44, passed away at age 44 on May 8, 2023. He was born on May 11, 1978 in Lexington, KY to Evonne Buford and James Humber Jr. 

James completed his education and continued his trade in carpentry. He spent most of his life enjoying spending time with family. He was always there to make you laugh, always knew the right words to say. His big personality and fun spirit was always a joy to be around, and will be greatly missed by all.

He leaves to cherish his memory his father, James (Cynthia) Humber; four sons, D'Angelo Webb, Jay'Quan Carpenter, Rodney Webb, and De'Sean Webb; one daughter, Damajea Williams; one granddaughter, Jamya Canada; four sisters, Schomecia Buford, Domerika Mobley, Shanita Walker, and Tapri Rice; two brothers, Damon Norris, Jaymon Fields; one niece, Matika Buford; two nephews, Tra'vonne (Adriane) Buford and Daiz'Jon Wade; a special cousin that was more like a mother figure to him, Melinda "Sheryl" Brown; and a host of great nieces and nephews. 

James was preceded in death by his mother, Evonne Buford.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Barry Bowman officiating.

Visitation will be 11:00 am until service time. 

Burial will be in Duncantown Cemetery in Lancaster. Following there will be a repass at St. Paul Predestinarian Baptist Church after the burial.

Active pallbearers are Arness Buford, Tony McPherson, James Faulkner, Elvis Buford, Shawn Allen, and Stephan Wilcox.

Honorary pallbearers are Kashton Walker, Stephan Wilcox Jr., Antwan Glover, Bobby Faulkner, Dontae Logan, Ja'Ion Carter, Diaz'Jon Wade, Tra'vonne Buford and James Catlett.
