Holly Parmley

Holly Michelle Sowers Parmley, 42, of Nicholasville, passed away Saturday July 23, 2022 in Lexington, KY. She was born on February 27, 1980 in Lexington, Ky to Don Sowers of Nicholasville and the late Paula Rhodes Sowers. 

She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Thomas Wayne and Marie Rhodes and paternal grandparents, J.C. and Gladys Sowers.

Also surviving are two beloved daughters, Kristen Parmley and Lilly Ardery of Nicholasville, a sister, Heather Sowers of Nicholasville; and a host of relatives and friends.

Holly was a 1998 graduate of West Jessamine County High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University.  She was a member of Nicholasville Baptist Church and was a Brownie and Girl Scout with her sister, Heather.  She was a person who could light up a room just by entering it and smiling, and apparently inherited her grandmother's sales ability as it was often said she could sell ice to Eskimos in the middle of winter.  She inherited her father's and grandfather's love of cars and knew more about them than some guys did.  Her favorite color was purple but her real passion was to be involved in home interior decorating some day as she could always get colors to mesh creating something beautiful.  Most of all, she loved her daughters with a passion, as well as the rest of her family.  She was very beloved by her father, sister and daughters in return.  She loved to cook and be a part of family gatherings her entire life and often represented her family at weddings, funerals and other events. 

Visitation will be 5-8 PM on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Edgewood Baptist Church in Nicholasville, KY.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, July 29, 2022 at Edgewood Baptist Church in Nicholasville, KY with Reverend Steve Gray directing. 

Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Nicholasville, KY.

Pallbearers are Duncan Kendall, Ashley King, Jack Ross, Sankey Binghan, Jeff Parmley, Alan "Doodle" Peel and Danny Flora. 

Honorary pallbearers are Bo Brandenburg, Chris Ardery, Thomas Crout, Douglas Green and Ned Slone.
