Hattie Evans Obituary

Hattie P. Linton Evans, age 62 walked through the doors of her heavenly mansion on July 22, 2022 at Sacred Ground Hospice House in Knoxville, TN.  She was known for her fondness of the color green and her love for sunflowers, she was a quiet and reserved person, but she also enjoyed a good time just the same.  She attended Garrard County High School in Lancaster, KY, though she did not graduate, she did achieve her high school diploma years later.  She was baptized at an early age at First Baptist Lancaster and was a very active member, she enjoyed singing in the choir, working on the kitchen committee, and participating in the summer Bible school program up until the time she moved to Lafollette, TN.  She loved her family unconditionally and was a true friend to all.  She will truly be missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

When Hattie was handed the keys to her brand new heavenly mansion, she had waiting on her with open arms her parents; William (Billy) and Cleo Linton; brothers, Morris Cephus Linton, William Lee Linton Jr.; sister, Barbara Ann Peyton Ray; uncles, John (June) L. Burton and Mack Logan Cunningham.

She leaves behind to mourn her passing and to celebrate her homegoing, husband Carl Evans of Lafollette, TN; loving and dedicated son Antonio (T.C.) Cephus Linton, his fiancé Brooke Alison Yarski, both of Knoxville, TN; sisters, Patricia Gail (William) Penix, of Louisville, KY, Donna Louise (William) Hocker, of Lancaster, KY; brother, Albert Lee (Ernistine) Linton, of Dayton, OH; Grandson, Xxavier D’andre-Lee Linton; special granddaughter, Delaney Claire Yarski, both of Knoxville, TN; nieces, Neokissha Laquiette (Nikki) Campbell, of Louisville, KY, Natasha Lynn Stamper, Candie Nicole Shepard, both of Dayton, OH, Crystal Kimmell, of Lexington, KY; nephews, Fernandro Lamont Linton, of Harrodsburg, KY, Fredque Antwoine Linton, William Jer-Ron Linton, both of Lancaster, KY, William Monterzay Penix, of Louisville, KY and several great-nieces and great-nephews cousins and numerous close friends.  In Honor of Hattie and her love for the color green, she would love it if you wore something green to her homegoing Celebration.  The Family would like to thank Sacred Ground Hospice House of Knoxville for the loving care they provided to Hattie during her final hours, the entire staff of The Berry Funeral Home family of funeral homes of the greater Knoxville area, your love and support will forever be remembered by the family and Spurlin Funeral Home Lancaster for their kindness and support during this difficult time.  May God Bless you all.
