Harold “Dane” Cain, 80, of Lincoln County, passed away October 14, 2022 at Stanford Care and Rehab in Stanford, KY. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shelby Jean Simpson Cain. Dane was born on January 16, 1942 to the late Ben and Dorothy Johnson Cain. 

He worked in construction for many years, Dane started his career at Walden- Grubbs Oil Company and retired after 30 years at Hall Construction. He built and operated the Land of Goshen Food Market and Oil Company for over 14 years. Dane loved antique cars and was an avid fishermen.  Dane was a member of Lancaster Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving is a daughter, Jennifer Collins (Willie) of Lancaster; a brother, Roy Cain of Lancaster; a grandson, Kevin Christopher Montgomery; two great grandchildren, Mia Grace Montgomery and Mason Christopher Montgomery; and many nieces and nephews. 

He is also preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Cain.

Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Tuesday October 18, 2022 at Spurlin Funeral Home. 

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday October 19, 2022 at Lancaster Cemetery with Pastor Dwayne Lobb officiating. 

Pallbearers are Mark Cain, Willie Collins, Kevin Christopher Montgomery, Bobby Hall, Jim Lamb, Charlie Hall, and Roger Tillett.
