Gordon Edward DeShon, 87, of Stanford, passed away February 5, 2021 at his home. He was born on May 12, 1933 in Garrard County to the late Porter and Sue Bourne DeShon. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jo Ann Ray DeShon.
Gordon was an army veteran and a Kentucky Colonel. He was a lifetime farmer and a faithful member of Lancaster Nazarene Church.
Surviving is a son, Alan Ray DeShon (Jennifer) of Stanford; grandchildren, Brett DeShon (Shelby) and Alyssa DeShon, both of Stanford.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Paul DeShon, Raymond DeShon, Ethel Wilmot, Virginia Black, Margaret DeShon, Agnes Human and Evelyn Combs.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, February 8, 2021 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dwayne Lobb officiating. Visitation will be 12:30 PM until service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Brett DeShon, Bruce Bailey, Mike Bailey, James Porter Wilmot, Quince Hicks, Billy King, Scottie King and Justin Wilmot.
Honorary pallbearers are Billy Moberly, Megan Dykes, Bobbie Cassady, Amie Brazee, and Linda Moore.
Memorial contributions are preferred to Lancaster Nazarene Church 131 Victory Lane Lancaster, Kentucky 40444 and Heritage Hospice.
Due to Covid-19 rules and regulations, all individuals attending services will be required to wear masks and maintain social distancing.
