Gillis E. "June" Dismeaux Jr.

Gillis E. “June” Dismeaux Jr., passed away at St. Joseph Hospital on September 6, 2022. He was born on April 7, 1947 to the late Gillis Sr. and Olivia Dismeaux. Also preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Walker.

Gillis retired from Donaldson. He also worked at Graves-Cox & Company and The National Casket Factory. He loved working for Habitat for Humanity.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lancaster, where he was a dedicated trustee and choir member.

He leaves to cherish his memory two brothers, Garland (Sallesa) Dismeaux of Danville, KY, and Gary Dismeaux of Lancaster, KY; A host of nieces, nephews, and relatives; A special companion of many years, Juanita Warren; and her son, Brandon Burnside of Lancaster, KY.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday September 13, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Lancaster with Rev. David McPherson officiating.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM until service time.

Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Harrodsburg, KY.

Active pallbearers are Elvis Buford, Simon Norris Jr., Jason Jones, Rev. Kendall Dismeaux, Antwoine Linton, Cedric Leavell, and Montez Ison.

Honorary pallbearers are Cabel Merrit, Ronnie Williams, Charles Alcorn, Boyce Smith, Terry Dunn, Wayne Williams, and James F. Warren
