Gilbert Tuggle, 84, of Lancaster passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. He was born August 3, 1938 to the late Delbert and Flonnie Atkinson Tuggle. He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Morgan Tuggle.
Gilbert owned and operated Tuggle Wrecker Service for many years and was a lifetime farmer. He was a faithful member of Forks of Dix River Baptist Church. Gilbert never met a stranger and always had that smile on his face. He loved his friends and family dearly and they loved him.
Surviving is a son, Darrell Tuggle (Danna) of Lancaster and daughters, Peggy Maggard (Johnny) of Lancaster and Donna Tuggle of Lancaster; brothers, Robert Tuggle (Helen) of Lancaster, Jesse Tuggle of Lancaster and Kay Tuggle (Kim) of Missouri; grandchildren: Darrell Maggard ( Rachel) of Madison County, McKinsey Maggard, Brice Tuggle, and Carter Tuggle; a great grandchild, Valerie Allen and a special dog, Sally Goodin.
Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Alford, Kenneth, Paul, and Harold “Buster” Tuggle.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro.Jerry Browning, Bro. Dwayne Dasher, and Bro. Harvey Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Sunday, November 27, 2022 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Brice Tuggle, Carter Tuggle, Darrell Maggard, Richard Stinnett, Bryan Tuggle, and Matt Tuggle.
Honorary pallbearers are Adult Men’s Sunday School Class of Forks of Dix River Baptist Church.
