Obituary

Gilbert Clark, 98, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, September 15, 2023 at Landmark of Lancaster.  

He was born on February 19, 1925 in Garrard County, KY to the late Humphrey and Christine Purcell Clark.

He proudly served our country during WWII in the United States Army.

Gilbert worked at IBM for many years.

Gilbert was a member of St. William Catholic Church in Lancaster.

Surviving is his loving wife of 75 years, Virginia Rhodus Clark; a daughter, Patricia Snyder (Ken) of Lexington; four grandchildren, Troy Snyder (Kathy) of Lexington, Dana Giles of Lexington, Kristopher Clark (Stacey) of Hustonville; and Jesse Clark (Courtney) of Berea; seven great grandchildren, Kaysea Clark, Chasity Clark, Reese Giles, Lila Clark, Kyndall Clark, Chase Snyder, and Emma Snyder.

Along with his parents, Gilbert was preceded in death by a son, Randall Clark.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM until service time.

Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Danny Purcell, Roger Purcell, Kristopher Clark, Troy Snyder, Reese Giles, and Dana Giles.
