George “Tilson” Allen

George “Tilson” Allen, 73, of Garrard County, KY, passed away at his home on February 9, 2023. He was born on October 25, 1949 in Barnardsville, North Carolina to the late Gotch and Maefrie Boone Allen. 

Tilson worked for the phone company for 43 years where he met many people and made many good friends, He was a big deer hunter, and loved being at his cabins in Livingston, Ky. 

Surviving are two sons, Chris Burns (Christina) and TJ Allen (Katie); one daughter, Brianna Allen (Justin), all of Garrard County; three grandchildren; Rayleigh and Presleigh Allen and Clayton Burns; brothers, James Allen of Charleston, SC, Avon Allen (ImaJean) of  Burnsville, NC, Eugene Allen of Asheville, NC; sister, Linda Huntley of Asheville, NC and sister in laws, Teresa Allen of Lexington, KY and Betty Allen of California. 

Tilson is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Andrew Allen, Max Allen (Linda) and Lenny Allen. 

Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 6:00 pm on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Spurlin Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm following the visitation with Bro. Brian Proctor officiating.
