Freda Carolyn Palmer, 77, of Lancaster, passed away October 20, 2021 at her home. She was born in Garrard County to the late Arthur “Jack” and Opal Kidwell Pingleton. Freda is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Kenneth Palmer.
She was a CNA for over thirty years, working at Garrard County Memorial Hospital and was a private caregiver for many families. She was a member of Hyattsville Baptist Church. Freda loved working in her garden, reading the Bible and listening to gospel music.
Freda is survived by a daughter, Julie Gilliam of Lancaster, two grandchildren, Colin Hunter Gibson (Jacqueline McNew) and Courtney Leigh Gibson (Joseph A. Lawson), both of Lancaster, a step-son, Kenny Palmer of Lancaster, sisters, Norma Jean King of Lancaster, Alice Pauline Ray of Lancaster, Lois Duncan (Roger) of Lancaster, Wayne Pingleton (Sue) of Indiana and Debbie Sparks (Fred) of Lincoln County.
She is also preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Irene Dailey, a brother, Robert Forrest Pingleton and a brother-in-law who she dearly loved, Roy Ray.
Funeral services will be 2pm Friday, October 22, 2021 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Everett Priddy officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12pm until service time.
Pallbearers will be Colin Gibson, Joseph Lawson, Robert Thomas, Joel Murphy, Eddie Murphy, and Sean Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Gilliam, Rodney Gibson, Kenny Palmer and Roger Duncan.
