Floyd Pingleton Obituary

Floyd James Pingleton, 91, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024 at his home. He was born on July 11, 1932 in Garrard County to the late Jess and Ruby Harris Pingleton. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Catherine Brooks Pingleton.
 
Floyd retired from the State Department as a Special Equipment Operator and also proudly served our county in the U.S. Army.  He loved to work on sawmills and drill wells.  If you needed him, he was there to help in any capacity - whatever you needed, no questions asked.  He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and great grandfather.
 
Floyd is survived by a son, Dean Pingleton of Lancaster; a grandson, Scott Pingleton (Amy) of Garrard County; five great-grandchildren, Abigail Pingleton and Seamus Pingleton of Lancaster, Cassandra Robbins of Cincinnati, Ohio,  Hayley Worley (Jacob) of Burgin, Kentucky, and Kaleb Robbins of Lexington, Kentucky; two great-great grandchildren; Leo Worley and Luke Worley; three brothers, Sidney Pingleton (Edna) of Copper Creek, Silas Pingleton of Jackson County, Kentucky, and Jesse James Pingleton (Fronnie) of Brodhead, Kentucky; three sisters, Mary Rains of Winchester, Kentucky, Marie Banks of Winchester, Kentucky, and Irene Burke of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky.

Along with his wife and parents, Floyd was preceded in death by two brothers: Stanley Pingleton (Lucy) and Lloyd Pingleton (Virginia); two sisters Grace Taylor (Gerald) and Rena Chandler (Emory); two brother-in-laws, Jack Rains and Porter Banks and a sister-in-law, Geneva Pingleton. 
 
Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel in Lancaster. Burial will follow in Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to Heritage Hospice (www.heritagehospice.com) or mail to 120 Enterprise Drive Danville, Kentucky 40422.
