Earl "Rennie" Thornberry

Earl "Rennie" Thornberry, 71, of Boyle County, passed away at his home on March 5, 2024.  He leaves behind his loving wife, Martha "Marti" Hatton Thornberry. Earl was born in Fayette County, KY on July 4, 1952 to parents Earl and Joan Davis Thornberry. 

Earl was involved in his family owned company, Kentucky Gem Coal Company.  He also owned Thornberry Stables. He was a representative for a Wrecker & Recovery Vehicle Sales Company.

In addition to his wife, Earl is survived by a son, Joseph Preston (Lynn) of Maryland; daughter, Stefani Renne Thornberry (Mike) of Lancaster; grandchildren Kaylynn Vargas, Khai Thornberry, Gavin Thornberry, Landon Rennon, Brysen Campbell, Sawyer Grimes; great grandchild Ellie Vargas; brothers Tony Thornberry and Drew Thornberry, both of Bourbon County, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Dan Thornberry.

Funeral services will be held at Spurlin Funeral Home on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at 6:00 pm.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until service time.
