Dwight Denny Ray, 66, of Lancaster, passed away October 8, 2025 at UK Healthcare in Lexington. He was born in Lancaster on June 26, 1959 to the late Dwight and Elizabeth West Ray. He is survived by his loving wife Robin.
Denny was a vibrant man who stayed young at heart and loved his family dearly. Many people will remember seeing him sitting own his front porch in the morning. He could do just about anything including racing which he did for twenty-five years, winning many trophies in the process. He was a mechanic and farmer by trade and loved taking care of his cattle. He often ran an excavator whenever anyone needed some digging done.
In addition to his wife, Robin, Denny is survived by nine children and stepchildren; a brother, Willey Ray; a sister Janet Caudill (Brad); an aunt, Sedona Edgington (Jim); eight grand children; and many great-grandchildren.
Denny was previously widowed being preceded in death by his late wife, Patricia Ray. Also preceding him is a brother, Marty Ray.
A visitation will be held at Lancaster Cemetery on Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 12-2 PM with a graveside service to follow.
Pallbearers will be Donald Oaks, Austin Teabo, George Michael Rayburn, Kevin Brickey, Amon Lee Hall and Brandon Montgomery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Montgomery, Don Rinthen, Lee Christopher, Burt Watkins, Bradley Hopkins and Ron Morrow.
