Dr. Randall Allen Wilson

Dr. Randall Allen Wilson, 73, went home to be with the Lord on May 13, 2025, surrounded by loved ones in Mesa, Arizona.

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Randy was the son of Lawrence Marion Wilson and Evelyn Maxine Howell. A lifelong learner and devoted public servant, he earned degrees in chemistry, psychology, physiology, and medicine. He served in the U.S. Army and later in the U.S. Navy. After earning his M.D. from the University of Kentucky in 1997, Randy practiced family medicine in Garrard and Mercer counties until his retirement in 2015.

Randy courageously faced multiple battles with cancer, meeting each with quiet strength and unwavering faith. His Christian beliefs were the foundation of his deep desire to serve others—with humility, compassion, and integrity. His patients valued not just his medical knowledge but the peace he brought with every visit.

He is survived by his children, Jacob (Sarah) Wilson and Jonathan (Vaz) Wilson; grandchildren, Rylee and Landen Duran; and siblings, Danny (Jackie) Wilson, Lauri (Mark) Ongley, and Melody (David) Duren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Randy’s life will be held at Lancaster Church of the Nazarene on May 24th. Visitation will be 1-3 pm and service will begin at 3:00 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center, in honor of Randy’s life and in support of others in their fight against cancer.
