Bentley Douglas “Doug” Graves, 79, of Garrard County, passed away at his home on September 10, 2025.  He is survived by his loving wife, Anna Moore Graves. He was born to John Bill and Anna Mae Graves on December 17, 1945 in Rockcastle County.

A man of many talents, Doug’s main trade was as a concrete truck driver in the construction industry; but he also farmed, worked as a mechanic and coal miner and also served as the Fire Chief for the Buckeye Fire Department.  He was happiest hunting and fishing.  Doug never met a stranger and always saw the good in everyone.

In addition to his wife, Doug is survived by sons, Doug (Madalin) Graves Jr. of Berea, Dewey Graves of Lancaster; daughters, Melissa (Dave) Hampton of Lexington, April (Aaron) East of Lancaster, Sierra Graves of Lexington; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill (Mary Ann) Graves of Lancaster, Shirley (Ernest Lee) Ray of Lancaster, Tommy Graves of Richmond; sister Delia Vance of Lancaster; and numerous nieces and nephews.

As well as his parents, Doug was preceded in death by brother Dewey Graves; sisters Lucy Mae Apple and Della Graves.

Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Graves officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers are Chris Graves, Derek Graves, Danny Walls, Lonnie Naylor, Ray Martin and Aaron East.
