Dixie Lorraine Brogle Sebastian

Dixie Lorraine Brogle Sebastian, 96 of Lancaster KY passed from this life to be reunited with her family in Heaven Thursday October 5, 2023, at Lexington Place in Lexington, KY. Born July 27, 1927, in Lancaster KY to the late Maddie and Isaiah Brogle. She is the widow of the late McClellan Sebastian.

Dixie was a loving wife, caring mother, and gentle teacher, renowned for her sweet generous spirit and concern for others. She was a retired elementary school teacher from the Garrard County school system. Her former students still fondly recall their time in her classroom.

Dixie was a steadfast Christian a long time and extremely faithful member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church and will be dearly missed by her church family. She always eagerly shared the witness of her faith, even to the very end of her life.

She enjoyed her garden and long-time home on Maple Avenue in Lancaster, freely sharing all she produced and canned with her family and neighbors. Although failing physical and mental health forced her to live her last years in assisted living facilities her sweet, gentle, generous spirit never faltered.

She is survived by five children Michael Sebastian, Bruce Dwayne Sebastian, Don Sebastian, Patricia Carey, and Mark Sebastian. Sisters: Wilma Arnold, Barbara Montgomery, Carolyn Hawkins, Patricia Reeves Brothers: WC Brogle, Joe Brogle, Paul Brogle Grandchildren: Tammie Michelle Sebastian, Daniel Lee Sebastian, Seanderick Sebastian, Brett Anthony Sebastian, Christopher Brian Sebastian, Sarah Carey Senn, Katie Carey Hale, Thomas Sebastian, Dennis Sebastian, Kyle Sebastian Great Grandchildren: Isean Sebastian, Anthony Brian Sebastian, Sydeni Sebastian, Giovanni Sebastian, Kristin Sebastian, Christopher Brian Sebastian Jr., Noah Robert Senn, Anna Joyce Senn, Madison Lynn Peters, Johnathon Maxwell Peters, Eli Hale, Maverick Declan Hale, Fynnley Curtis Hale, Derrick Lee Sebastian, Tyler Fox Sebastian, Savannah Marie Sebastian, Emma Cassidy Sebastian.

She is proceeded in death by her husband McClellan Sebastian; parents Maddie and Isaiah Brogle and two sisters Doris Ayres and Roberta East.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 7, 2023, 11:00AM to 2:00PM at Mount Hebron Baptist Church in Lancaster KY. The funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 2:00PM also at Mount Hebron Baptist Church, officiated by Brother Steve Meece. Graveside service will follow at the Lancaster cemetery in Lancaster KY.
