Delvena Cockerham, 92, of Nicholasville, passed away April 24, 2025 at Baptist Health Lexington. She was born on January 17, 1933 in Lee County, Kentucky to the late Jesse James and Dorrie Deaton. 

Surviving are daughters, Mary Mogan of Nicholsville, Brenda Doughten of Lexington, and Kathy Cockerham of Lexington; sons, Vernon Cockerham of Nicholsville, Stephen Cockerham and Jerry Cockerham both of Breathitt County; sisters, Rita Spencer of Indiana, Shirley Shipley of Missouri, and Francis Phillips of Somerset; twenty eight grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, sons, Samuel and David Cockerham; sisters, Betty Pennington, Lillian Deaton, Arvella Drake, and Minnie Lou Deaton, and a brother, Robert Deaton. 

Funeral services will be 1pm Monday, April 28, 2025 at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro Jim Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 12pm-1pm on Monday, April 28, 2025 at the funeral home.
