Davey Wayne Logan, 75, of Lancaster passed away Friday, February 28, 2025 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, Kentucky. He was born in Lancaster, Kentucky to the late Stanley and Lucille Mack Logan.
He attended Pleasant Run Baptist Church in Buckeye at a young age. He attended Garrard County High School after integration and graduated in 1968. Then he attended Central Kentucky Tech, where he received his welding certification. He was a member the Army Reserve for 24 years. He farmed and worked at Whirlpool for 35 years. Shortly after retirement, he opened a shop at his house where he would work daylight to dark on any and everything. He enjoyed working with metal, on vehicles, anything electrical, and farm equipment, most of all tractors. He loved working with his son, socializing with everyone as they came through the shop and keeping up with his grandkids.
He leaves to cherish his memories; a son Davey “Pookie” (Amy) Logan Jr. of Lancaster; one brother Mike Logan; two sisters, Mary K. Boards and Barbara Pigg; eleven grandchildren Jordan (Katie) Logan, Davian (Adreanna) Logan, Devan Logan, Desmin Logan, Davan "Sis" Logan, Daylan Logan, Darian Logan, Alicia Logan, Cash Logan, Kain Logan, and Destiny Logan; four great grandchildren Carter Logan, Mercedee Logan, DaKobe Logan, and Draytan Logan; two sister-in-laws Margaret VanDyke and Liz Ison; one brother in law, Paul VanDyke and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian “Penny” Logan of 50 years; a daughter, Cindy Logan; one son, Neil Logan; two sisters Amanda Martin and Shirley Owsley; three brothers, Stanley Logan, Jr., Paul Logan and Dwight Logan.
Funeral services will be 7pm Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Pat Alcorn officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 5-7pm at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will be 10am Friday, March 7, 2025 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Logan, Davian Logan, Daylan Logan, Darian Logan, Devan Logan, Cash Logan, Kain Logan and Trayce Poynter.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Desmin Logan, Davan "Sis" Logan, Alicia Logan, Destiny Logan, Carter Logan, Mercedee Logan, DaKobe Logan, and Draytan Logan.
