Charles Jones

Charles W. Jones was born on November 28, 1945 in Lancaster, Ky.  He grew up on South Campbell Street and is the son of the late Rice H. and Lucy Pearl Jones. 

He was a member of First Baptist Church South Paulding Street in Lancaster, Ky.

He was a 1965 graduate of Mason High School where he was a star basketball player, well known for his athletic abilities.  He attended and graduated from the LaFayette Technical School where he was trained as a brick mason. 

In December 1966, he married Sula Dunn.  In this union two sons were born.  Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brother Rice H. Jones Jr.

He is survived by his spouse of 52 years Sula Jones; sons, Charles W. Jones Jr. (Jessica) and Brian Jason Jones (Faneshia); Sister, Mrs. Betty DuBose (Charles Ray); grandchildren, Rosalon Jones, Charles Travillian (Kelly), Charles Quentin Jones, Tyreece Jones and Spencer Jones; Nephews, Charles DuBose Jr., Rice H. Jones III; Niece, Della Jones; Cousins, Glenn Ball, Thomas Peters, Jerrene Peters, George Logan, Polly Hocker, and Gloria Thomas; and extended family Nicole Norris, Erica Norris, Ethan Casey.

Funeral services 1PM Saturday, May 18, 2019 at First Baptist Church. Visitation will be Friday, May 17, 2019 from 6-9PM at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Duncantown Cemetery.
