Bobby Carrier Obituary

Robert “Bobby” Allen Carrier, 84, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August 25, 2025. He was born on September 26, 1940 to the late Otis and Ethel Hall Carrier. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Warner Carrier. 


Bob was a skilled and talented builder and was the ultimate handyman. He was a Christian man, who adored his grandchildren and was extremely proud of his family. Bob enjoyed playing with his great-grandchildren, dancing with his wife Mary and his frequent visits to Dairy Queen. He was a kind person, who never met a stranger. Bob was a faithful member of Good Hope Baptist Church, where he was song leader for many years. 


Surviving are his daughters, Brenda Purcell (Danny) of Lancaster, Mary Gilliam (Charlie) of Paint Lick and Angie Richards (James) of Lancaster; a brother, Phillip Carrier (Jeannie) of Paint Lick; six grandchildren, Danielle Adams (Roger) of Lancaster, Curt Isaacs (Nicole) of Paint Lick, Amy Boyd (Dalton) of Lancaster, Jacob Richards (Paige) of Lancaster, Travis Purcell (Lexy) of Lexington and Holly Richards (Dexter) of Harrodsburg; ten great-grandchildren, Rylea, Adelyn, Levi, Cooper, Case, Jax, Leah, Samuel, Ezra, and one on the way. 


Bob is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Shelby Carrier, Donald Carrier, George Carrier, and Faye Frost. 


Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Browning officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of service on Friday.


Pallbearers will be Curt Isaacs, Jacob Richards, Travis Purcell, Dalton Boyd, Michael Carrier and Jason Carrier. 


Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Alcorn, John Nichols, Louis Ray, and Holton Howard.
