Betty Jo Mays Harper 

Betty Jo was peacefully called home while at rest on March 12th 2023. She was the daughter of Betty Ballew Mays and the late Joseph William Mays. She was a graduate of Garrard County High School and a CNA for 30 years.


She is survived by her husband, James T. Harper of Lincoln County, KY; two children, James Tyler Mays of Atlanta, GA and Joysha Luhman of Lexington, Ky; 3 Grandchildren, Aubri Guy, Kru Gatson, and Xavier Mays. 3 Siblings, Curtis Ballew, Phoebe Johnson and Marilyn Moses and a host of family and friends. 


Betty Jo’s presence brought endless memories to all who had the privilege of knowing her and she will be deeply missed. 


Join us in remembering the life of Betty Jo on Friday, March 17, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Spurlin Funeral Home. 


Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at St. Paul Predestinarian Baptist Church in Lancaster.
