Barbara Grimes, 80, of Jessamine County, passed away January 10, 2026 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. She leaves behind her loving husband of 62 years, Roy Grimes. She was born on July 22, 1945 in Boyle County to the late Arvil and Marie Adams.

Barbara enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and was a wonderful cook for the family.  She loved her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by son Roy Curtis (Cheryl) Grimes of Nicholasville; daughter Bonnie (James) Grimes Clark of McKinnney; grandchildren Nicole (Chad) Jones of Kings Mountain, Chris Clark of Danville, Austin (Kayla) Clark of Lawrenceburg, Jonathan Dale Grimes of Nicholasville, Kyle Mitchel Grimes (Jody) of Nicholasville, Noah James Cecil Grimes of Nicholasville; 10 great-grandchildren; brother Donnie J. (Connie) Adams of Harrodsburg; sisters Stella (Bill) Estes of Garrard County and Elsie Adams of Garrard County.

Barbara was preceded in death by brothers Gary Adams, Johnny Adams and Richard Adams; sisters Carolyn Davis, Jeannie Peavler and Joyce Adams.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Leslie Bentley officiating. 

Burial will follow in Elder Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
