Adella Stevenson

Adella Stevenson, 89, of Garrard County, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Saint Joseph Medical Center in Lexington, KY. She was born January 13, 1933 in Garrard County to the late Otice and Della (Tarrence) Williams.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Stevenson; three brothers, Marion, Otice (Pete) and Charlie Williams; five sisters, Lettie Mae Peters, Hazel Taylor, Hugh Emma Eird, Kay Francis Whitley and Pearlie Jane Harvey.

Adella was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Lancaster, KY, where she was president of the Missionary Society and chairman of the kitchen committee.

Adella graduated from Mason High School in 1952. She worked 34 years at the Garrard County Extension Office.

She loved to cook, garden, loved her flowers, cane chairs, and she was a Kentucky Colonel.

She is survived by her sons, Charles (Sue) Stevenson, of Bloomfield, KY and Patrick Stevenson of Lancaster, KY; a daughter, Sue Stevenson of Lancaster, KY; a granddaughter, LaVonda Miles; brother in law, Charles (Joyce) Harvey; sister in law, LaVerne Williams; and a host of nieces and nephews. Special children, Aaliyah and Antonio (Boo) Harvey, Sarayah Miller, Ava and Brayla Montgomery.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, November 21, 2022 at Spurlin Funeral Home. 

Visitation will be 5-8 PM Sunday, November 20, 2022 at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Duncantown Cemetery. 

Active pallbearers are Rodney Whitley, Alfonzo Miller, Antonio Harvey, Ronnie Williams, Wayne Williams, and Jason Jones.

Honorary pallbearers are Deacons of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
